Q: Where is the ice rink?
A: Use the Sat Nav postcode ST4 8JG, This year the real ice rink is located to the rear of Trentham Garden Centre, by the River Trent in the comfort of a marquee then make your way to the Trentham Ice marquee to collect your skates. (Click here to view map - Number 30)
Q: How do we buy our tickets?
A: You can either purchase your tickets over the phone by calling 0115 807 7900 (Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm), online at Trentham Ice or in person at the on-site box office (Cash sales only from the box office at the ice rink) Please note the box office will be on site from December 9th.
Q: Does my ticket allow me entry into the gardens?
A: Admission to the gardens is not included in your ice skating ticket price.
Q: How long do the sessions last?
A: Sessions start on the hour and last 45 minutes. Please arrive promptly for your session allowing time to collect your boots.
Q: Is skate hire included in the ticket price?
A: Yes!
Q: Can I bring my own skates?
A: Yes, of course you can! Please make sure that they are in good condition, and that you have fitted them properly before skating.
Q: Should we book ahead?
A: There are only 72 skaters allowed on the ice per session, so we advise you to book ahead to avoid disappointment. Please note a booking fee applies for all tickets purchased in advance. You can turn up to any session without booking - if it's full, we'll just book you on to the next available one.
Q: Is it real ice?
A: Yes! This is a real ice rink - not artificial.
Q: What should we wear?
A: The ice rink is inside a heated marquee - so wear suitable clothing. We suggest you wear thick socks and gloves *for your own safety we recommend to always wear a helmet.
Q: How big is the ice rink?
A: The ice rink is oval shaped, and measures 20m from front to back, and is 15m wide.
Q: Are children allowed on the ice rink alone?
A: No. All children aged 15 and under must be supervised at all times when at the ice rink. Children aged 5-8 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised on the ice (1 adult can supervise up to 2 children of this age). Children aged 9-15 must be supervised rink-side by an adult (1 adult can supervise up to 6 children of this age). Children aged 4 and under are not permitted on the ice rink.
Q: Do Annual Ticket Holders get a discount?
A: Yes. Holders of a valid Annual Ticket to Trentham Gardens get a £1 discount on tickets, only available at the box office. This discount does not apply to guests accompanying an Annual Ticket Holder or online.
Q: I have a day ticket to Trentham Gardens, do I get a discount?
A: Yes those with valid day tickets get a £1 discount on tickets for sessions. Only available at the box office, not online.
Q: What happens if my boot size isn't available?
A: Boots are available from child size 11 (29) to adult size 13 (48.5). If your boot size isn't available for your session, we'll book you on the next available session or refund your ticket.
Q: What if I book ahead and then can't make the session?
A: Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable (at the discretion of management), so please be sure before you book your tickets.
Q: What if I'm late for my session?
A: All sessions start on the hour, and we advise you to arrive at least 10 minutes early to give you enough time to walk to the ice rink and collect your skates.
Q: What if I've lost my ticket?
A: Tickets must be kept very safe as we cannot re-issue lost tickets. Entry will not be granted to those without a valid ticket.
Q: Can I bring the dog?
A: Sorry - dogs are not allowed in to the Trentham Ice marquee except for assistance dogs.
Q: Is there anywhere I can get food and a drink by the ice rink?
A: There will be a cafe with a selection of hot and cold food and drinks, including a license bar, available within the marquee.
Q: I am currently planning my works Christmas party, how many people can be on the ice during a session? Does this allow exclusivity?
A: Up to 72 people are allowed on the ice during a session, if you would require exclusivity, you can hire the rink for £400, to book contact 0115 807 7900
